I have also undertaken extensive head and neck cancer surgery and cleft lip and palate surgery in South East Asia having worked in Malaysia for three years. I was an inaugural fellow of The Australian College of Cosmetic Surgery. In 1989 I pioneered free tissue transfer in the Australian National Capital with the first free, vascularised tissue transfer for tongue reconstruction, I hold Fellowships in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, England and Australia. I have a certificate of residency training from the examination board of the Louisiana State University, USA. I have extensive experience in gunshot wounds from my training in trauma surgery in New Orleans.

I undertake teaching on a university basis as Director of The MaxilloFacial Unit at Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

My recreational interests include golf and water sports. I enjoy camping and generally keep fit by training for marathons having done the New York, London, Berlin, Paris and 3 mountain marathons in New Zealand. Unfortunately the Hawaiaan Iron man is not within my grasp as I cannot ride a bike! I support the Sea Eagles and Socceroos but particularly like watching Manchester United and AC Milan on the tube.
